Today, Spancrete is the standard against which all others are measured. Mr. Henry Nagy founded the company in 1946. At that time it was known as West Allis Concrete Products. The company grew providing the area with concrete block for construction. In 1953, Mr. Nagy purchased a unique concrete manufacturing machine from a German inventor and brought it to the United States. With some R & D the machine was transformed into the first hollowcore machine in the United States and the Spancrete process was born. Spancrete continues to be a leading supplier of precast concrete products to the building industry. Spancrete Machinery sells equipment and accessories to licensees worldwide, and through these machinery licensees, Spancrete® hollowcore floors and walls are used in buildings around the world.
